Another ‘Best’ Chocolate Chip Cookie

Hi from NorCal! It is my roommate’s 23rd birthday and she requested chocolate chip cookies. I thought about making the same old (delicious) recipe, but hey, Life is short! bake and try out with new recipes. I haven’t really ever seen oil used in cookies before but it kept these soft and chewy. (I can’t tell you for how long cause they didn’t even last 2 days in this house!) I did forget the eggs until the end… Kept wondering why the dough was so dry. But I added them right before the chocolate chips and it turned out great!

This was all that was left by noon the day after I made them. But I should tell you that I made them at 10PM and none were eaten that night.

The Best Chocolate Chip Cookie Recipe

  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1/2 cup butter
  • 1/2 cup oil
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 tsp vanilla
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 3 cups flour
  • milk chocolate chips


  1. Cream butter, oil, and sugars.
  2. Add eggs and beat until fluffy. Add vanilla
  3. Blend in baking soda, salt, baking powder, and flour.
  4. Stir in chocolate chips.
  5. Bake at 350 for 7-8 minutes.
  6. Enjoy warm with milk.

Next time I might try them with some coconut oil or a little whole wheat flour or semi-sweet chocolate chips or everything! These would also be good with M&Ms…
